The Wilmington Conservatory of Fine Arts, established in 2007 is proud to present an encore of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker. Based on E.T.A. Hoffman’s story and set to Tchaikovsky’s stunning score, the celebrated tale comes to life with intricate set designs, period costumes, and over 200 dancers including Conservatory students, local actors, and professional dancers. In addition, Dara Holmes, Company Artist with the Joffery Ballet of Chicago, former student, and ILM native, will take the stage as the Sugar Plum Fairy!
Join Clara and her Nutcracker prince as they embark on a thrilling adventure into a magical winter wonderland. Experience with them the grandeur of the Land of the Sweets as never before, and marvel at the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier as they dance the grand pas de deux. In celebration of our eighteenth season in the ILM area, Wilmington Conservatory of Fine Arts is delighted to present this cherished tradition. This sweet, family-friendly, heartwarming Nutcracker is not one to be missed!
The Wilmington Conservatory of Fine Arts has entertained and delighted audiences at the Wilson Center as a resident nonprofit company performing original productions of “Peter Pan”, “The Sleeping Beauty,” “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, “Cinderella,” “Hope Has Come,” “Pinocchio,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Americana,” “ The Nutcracker “, and many other beloved fan favorites.
