This screening of David Lynch’s cult classic film, Blue Velvet, is a partnership with the 76th annual North Carolina Azalea Festival. For the first time ever, two of the largest festivals in Southeastern North Carolina are now collaborating in celebration of Wilmington’s long-standing film industry.
One of the earliest films produced in Wilmington by Dino DeLaurentiis, Blue Velvet is regarded as one of the best American independent films ever made. One huge part of the Blue Velvet legacy is the horrifying severed human ear, a fan-favorite from the film. This iconic human ear was brought to life by makeup effects artist Jeff Goodwin, who will be in attendance and participating in a Q&A following the screening.
Price of admission includes one drink from the Jengo’s bar and light hors d’oeuvres prior to the screening. Doors open at 6:30pm.
